An area little known to travelers, yet so important to Nice, because emblematic of the period when the city flourished and endowed us with architectural marvels that form a bouquet where each flower is unique: the « Quartier des Musiciens » of Nice.
Comfortably sitting and having coffees or other drinks (your consumption will be at your own expense), our exploration will begin with an overview of the Belle Époque period, a golden age of prosperity and artistic flourishing in Europe, particularly in France. Characterized by peace, optimism, and technological advancements, this era encapsulated the essence of elegance and refinement.
You will discover how come Nice which was a very small and quite a poor city for centuries became a worldwide known holiday destination in a very short time and nowadays the 5th biggest city in France.
I will talk to you about Nice at the end of the 19th century, its history being very much linked with the creation of « tourism and the golden age of the French riviera.
We will also talk about the creation and development of Belle Epoque architecture.
I will show you illustrations of its different styles and characteristics, so that you can fully appreciate the beauty of the buildings we will see together during the walking tour of this beautiful residential area in the centre of Nice.
Then we’ will walk through this Bourgeois area of Nice, along streets little known to travelers full of architectural gems.
I will show you the most emblematic buildings constructed during Nice’s golden age, some of which are listed historical monuments. Together, we’ll appreciate their beauty and their intriguing architectural details.
There are several possible locations to finish this tour, depending on your pace and wishes, we can finish it on avenue Jean Medecin or at the seaside or in old Nice.

It can also include a meal together, the opportunity for you to taste the delicious traditional and local dishes.
Usually the meeting point is the Hotel’s café I chosen to start that experience, located not far from the Negresco.
